Over a cup of tea...the week that was and blogging come what may.

More tea in pretty cups..

Hello! What a week that was. Lots of work at work, another deadline elsewhere leaving me too busy to blog. It was also a time to think about a blogging schedule. It does take a fair amount of time to put together the blog posts because I like to post everyday. I am sure it is what every blogger goes through- to blog or not to blog is not the question :)(i can't imagine stopping) it is more a question of how to fit it all into the time available. What do you do? How do you make it work? Do share how you blog. Daily, weekly or when inspirations hits? I  like my favorite blogs to post often because of  all the beautiful creativity they share- it inspires and recharges me. And that is what I like to do with my blog too- post often and post 'beautiful'.
So after a point, you are blogging not just for your self but for all those who read your posts. And a schedule becomes even more important ..bringing us back to where we began.
 So, how do YOU blog?

(I am in love with these cups from Anthropologie and have been taking far too many pictures of them.)

Obviously, I don't post everyday. I'm not a full-time blogger (but sometimes it feels like I am). Is quantity better than quality? Isn't that the age old question. With the internet and blogs I'm not sure.

I am not a full time blogger either though I think it would be a great job. I think its possible to post often and not sacrifice quality. Thanks for weighing in, Eric!

Well, I write two blogs which are very different. On the one, where posts are more succinct and so, easier, I post M-F. I try to post at least once a day with regular topics and then add in additional 'as-inspired' posts as they come to me. As a full time student with a part time job this becomes a little more difficult during the semesters, so I schedule daily posts that I can compile in a number of hours and then if I have extra time and am particularly inspired I will throw in a couple extras. Scheduling posts to be published on set dates is really helpful for maintaining a daily blog. Though sometimes I feel it's cheating.

On my other blog, which is more personal and still has a minimal readership, I feel less pressure to perform. I post when I feel like it and stick to a handful of post topics. I try to post at least once or twice a week, sometimes it's a little more, but it's definitely not daily and I like this freedom.

I wish I could combine both blogs but they are quite different so I doubt it would work. For now, I enjoy them both and try to remind myself that my blogs are acts of love, not work... If I keep that kind of outlook I feel not so bad for missing a day here or there. :)

Great topic by the way...

Hi Jesse,
I use the scheduling option too because I like to plan some posts and then also post if any additional inspiration strikes. I think it is a better strategy than a hurried middle-of-the-week, just-need-to-write-something kind of post. More organized that way and definitely not cheating.

Love that cup! I used to blog when I felt inspired--which meant for me that I would sometimes go a week without blogging. Now I am trying to blog every weekday, so that I end up with four or five posts per week. That's working for me so far.

Confession time- I'm an erratic blogger and you would have anyway noticed that if u are a regular reader. Its a different matter that I'd 'like' to blog more often. But life and living totally dictates how often I make a post.
