Home tour: Clara in PuntaCana

It has been a while since I featured a home tour here and now I am thrilled to share pictures of a home in paradise or more precisely, PuntaCana in the Dominican Republic. It is the home of Clara and her family. Clara blogs at The Home in Paradise about "the chronicles of a family's life in this Caribbean outpost and our journey turning this nondescript, brand-new concrete box into a home using craftiness, my beloved sewing machines, lots of glue and my power tools." She is an amazingly resourceful and talented lady and the love she pours into her home is obvious in every picture.
Clara's living room is simple yet elegant- the slipcovers for the sofa and chairs and the cushions have all been sewn by Clara. I like the lack of clutter, the clean lines and the abundant light in the room. In fact, the entire home exudes serenity and calm.

Clara has renovated, repurposed and generally given a new lease  on life to many of the objects found in her home. In fact, her blog is full of DIY and how-to ideas and inspiration, from sewing to ikea furniture makeovers.

And now we come to the terrace, where the views are something like this....

Just lovely! Read the entire story and view the many pictures of how this home was created at Clara's blog A Home in Paradise and be inspired by the many projects described there.
Thanks for sharing, Clara!
