Ganesha

It's the day to celebrate Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles. Happy Ganesh Chathurthi

PS. I found this lovely, little Nepalese Ganesha mask from California- based  Coast Mountain Crafts on Etsy. They sell vintage treasures from India, Nepal and Tibet. Doesn't he look wise and all-knowing? Click here for more information.

Living room Inspiration

I found a bunch of beautiful pictures of living rooms over at House to home (UK). They are of different styles but all of them are extremely inviting. I love rooms that you can actually use, where people can put their feet up and be comfortable,  and where you don't have to shout across a vast expanse of r-o-o-m to make conversation. What do you think? Is your living room begging to be lived in?

Rajee Sood: For A Gorgeous Home

Fellow blogger and friend Rajee Sood and I started blogging around the same time. She is an amazing stylist and interior designer. She has an eye for finding the most gorgeous (and  TEMPTING) items for the home- think soft  kantha fabrics, vintage filigree work vases, brass work and ornate wood work. So when she opens an online destination and invites you to come and see for yourself all these beautiful things, its hard to resist( and harder still to leave without buying something). Don't say I didn't warn you! Just look at these pictures from her inspiration/lookbook showcasing her sensuous and rich style...

O is for Otomi fabrics

The Otomi Indians are an indigenous people of Mexico. Their hand-embroidered fabrics are colorful and make a striking statement. I think they are the perfect way to wake up and really energize a room. It looks similar to crewel work, don't you think? Jacaranda Home is a great store if you are looking to buy one of these gorgeous works of art.

Teal Otomi table covering

I think the combination of the teal otomi fabric with a dusky pink is an inspired one- a more sophisticated/ grown up  version of the girly turquoise and pink pairing. I think I would like to hang it as a tapestry on a cream wall and it will look I bought the garden indoors with me. What do you say?

How beautiful is this Moroccan-inspired getaway by architect Ahsan Ansari! This apartment maybe in Mumbai but I can feel the Mediterranean breeze in my hair. Now, where is my mint tea?!

Bloomingville, Denmark

I am drawn to so many different styles of interior design, that it's hard to define my signature style. I found Denmark-based Bloomingville and I fell in love with their Autumn Winter 2011 collection that pairs tough loft/industrial settings with soft feminine touches in the form of rich and luxuriant color. There's those moody blues and violets again.
