It was just a matter of time (and serendipity) that I would stumble onto Cloth Roads, a Global Textile Marketplace whose mission it is to support "indigenous textile artisans worldwide". I believe that textile weaving tells a story of cultures and by buying these fabrics, you have brought a part of that story home with you. Lately, I have been toying with the idea of a gorgeous embroidered tapestry or suzani panel to cover an entire wall and to create a lush atmosphere within my home. I am still thinking about what kind of fabric I want which brings me back to Cloth Roads. You might want to bookmark them for their batiked indigo fabric, Japanese shibori, silk ikats, Peruvian shawls - it is hard to decide which is more tempting.
