A very wonderful start of the week to you! Once or twice a month, I go through this phase of wanting to start a book club. (No, I am not already a member of one.) I think of all who I would like to invite, of the wonderful hors d'oeuvres I would make (inspired by Diane Mott Davidson), the heated discussions we would engage in as we read Anthony Trollope, Ruth Rendell, Naguib Mahfouz, Tatiana De Rosnay, PD James, Stieg Larsson, Anne Perry or Jane Austen and then reality sinks in- I am just not reading much in the form of books these days. Most of my reading is the research papers that I have to read for classes or for work. By the time I am done with those, I need toothpicks to keep my eyes open! BUT. If and when I do start a book club (and it is just a matter of time), I want to host it in a room that looks like this..bright, cosy and so beautifully feminine.
Of course, there maybe times when our discussion goes on into the evening. Times when we are not ready to go back to routine and the story book holds more appeal than real life. For those late hours, we will need a place like this..
