Well, not just one evening but many. We took the train from London and arrived in Paris on a cold, wintry and rainy evening. This time we elected to stay in the Latin Quarter with its vibrant atmosphere, many bistros and where every second store seemed to be a bookstore. We felt right at home. One of them was the famous Shakespeare and Company, crammed from top to bottom with old and new books and with so many inviting alcoves to sit, linger and dream. The boys and I were transfixed by the sight of so much temptation. A squashy chair, a chai latte accompanied by a citron macaron and I could stay here for ever.
